Percepção sobre os problemas ambientais causados pela retirada da mata ciliar na comunidade do Santo Antônio do Panauarú, municipio de Parintins-AM

Abstract

The riparian forests are degraded in the search disordered by productive areas such as agriculture and livestock. For this reason, the present research – “Perception about the environmental problems caused by the removal of ciliary forest in the community of Santo Antônio do Panauarú, Parintins/AM municipality” – was aimed at verifying the perception of the riparians of the Santo Antônio do Panauarú community on the degradation of the riparian forest, as well as to describe the environmental characteristics of the locality in the seasonal periods of flood and ebb of the rivers. Initially the study area was recognized through observation and photographic records, followed by a meeting with the community members to present the project and interviews with the aim of analyzing their perception regarding ciliary forest, its importance, degradation and environmental impacts caused by the absence of this vegetation, and finally an informative talk was held at the community center to sensitize the riparians. Considering the results obtained in the research, we noticed the lack of information regarding the riparian forest and its fundamental importance for the environment. It was also contacted that the local population knows some impacts but did not know if these impacts were caused by the removal of the vegetation, and demonstrated the will to conserve the vegetation so that the benefits provided by it benefits provided by it are rescued.
