Resumo
Futsal stands out as an important sport within the sporting universe, present in
various contexts, such as after-school programs. Within this growing phenomenon, we can
analyze its nuances in pedagogical and organizational profiles. Objective: To analyze the
organizational and pedagogical profile of after-school futsal programs in schools in Manaus.
Methodology: This is a qualitative, descriptive, and field-based study. The subjects were 8
coaches from after-school futsal programs in Manaus who participated in the Amazonas School
Games (JEAs) in 2024. The instrument used was a semi-structured interview, and the analysis
focused on sociodemographic, organizational, and pedagogical aspects. Results: Twelve
projects were found, of which 8 were interviewed. Regarding the sociodemographic profile, 2
coaches are female and 6 are male, the average age is 40 years, and the average experience is 8
years. Regarding the organizational aspect, 4 projects are from private schools and 4 from
public schools. The projects are mostly motivated by participation in competitions and the
promotion of futsal, and the initiative for their implementation is institutional. Public school
projects are led by the Department of Education, while among private schools, two are funded
by students and two by the school itself. Only two coaches work exclusively on the project and
are not teachers at the school. Regarding the pedagogical profile, there is a predominance of
technical content and a technocratic methodology. Socio-educational content, when addressed,
aims at civic education. The challenges identified are the low sporting competence of the
students and material and structural challenges in public schools. Final considerations: The
study identified that the profile of the projects is institutional, with support from the school and
administrative bodies. Despite a median age range and experience level, the predominance of
the technocratic method, which gives little consideration to the internal logic of futsal and the
human development of the student in general, is understood as a point to be improved, along
with the structural and material conditions of the projects.
