Elpídio Pereira (1872-1961): subsídios históricos sobre o balé Les Pommes Du Voisin

Abstract

This paper focused on the context of beginning of the ballet Les Pommes Du Voisin, a highlighted work by the composer Elpídio Pereira (1872-1961), which had the opening performance in 1926 at Teatro Gaité Lyrique in Paris. The methodology used on this paper consisted of a research of the sources related to Les Pommes Du Voisin and to its composer, so they are either bibliographical or documental; which made possible the formulation of this paper. This paper will show up: a brief trajectory of Elpídio Pereira’s life, a contextualization of the ballet Les Pommes Du Voisin in the early Twentieth Century Paris, as well as further information related to the mentioned ballet.
