Saneamento básico e problemas socioambientais, um estudo de caso envolvendo a Comunidade do Castanhal no Municipio de Parintins - AM

Abstract

This work is a case study, with residents of the chestnut community in the municipality of Parintins - AM. Its objective was to identify and analyze basic sanitation conditions, such as drinking water supply, electricity, sewage, garbage collection, as well as housing conditions and, from that, identify the environmental and social impacts that affect the well-being of people. The methodology has a qualitative character, with bibliographic survey, interview and direct observation of the area under study. The research showed that the residents of the chestnut forest live with precarious conditions of basic sanitation, which negatively affects people's well-being and causes environmental impacts. Families who were forced to live in the chestnut area, which is an area of environmental protection, are socially vulnerable, they are people who have not had many opportunities to improve their living conditions and need greater attention from municipal public bodies.
