Resumo
This undergraduate thesis analyzes the Boi Mirim Tupi as an instrument of cultural education and identity formation for children and young people in the municipality of Parintins (AM). The study starts from the understanding that Amazonian cultural manifestations, such as the boi-bumbá, play a fundamental role in the construction of belonging and the preservation of traditional knowledge. The research seeks to understand how participation in the Boi Mirim Tupi contributes to the cultural, social, and identity development of the subjects involved. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory character, using semi-structured interviews with members of the coordination and collaborators of the group. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis, allowing the identification of perceptions, experiences, and meanings attributed to the Boi Mirim. The results demonstrate that the Boi Mirim Tupi promotes meaningful learning, strengthens community ties, and stimulates the recognition of Amazonian traditions among children and young people. In addition, it acts as a space for coexistence, social protection, discipline, and the development of cultural and social skills. It is concluded that the Boi Mirim Tupi constitutes an essential space for cultural education, preserving collective identity and fostering civic engagement among participants, reaffirming its relevance in the cultural landscape of Parintins.
