Resumo
The present work is a survey of the ethnobotany of women's traditional knowledge about medicinal plants, focusing mainly on the boldo species found by the residents of the upper Solimões-Amazonas region, in the municipality of Tabatinga, in the GM3 district. Being, the upper Solimões-Amazon, a region rich in diversity of plants for curative use. The boldo species Plectranthus ornatos Codd., and Plectranthus barbatus Andr and Vernomia condensata Bark, are plant species used for food and curative purposes. However, this work aimed to reflect what medicinal plants are in relation to ethnobotany, in particular the plant known as "boldo", reporting its herbal benefits, verifying the cultural importance and diversity of knowledge of the residents about the identified species. methods for carrying out the work, literature review, interviews with the elderly who make use of the medicinal plant in question and observation in the preparation of tea and baths, and when its purpose. In the research, 5 steps of methodology were carried out: 1) Bibliographic survey; 2) Recognition of the neighborhood area; 3) Interview with the elderly; 4) Observation in the preparation of tea and bath; 5) Identification of the species of boldo found and their purposes in relation to the treatment of any disease.
