Dark tourism:um estudo bibliográfico sobre o desenvolvimento do turismo mórbio na cidade de Manaus

Abstract

Tourism has its many ramifications and arises more over time. One of them is the Dark Tourism, which has been studied and practiced for a little less than 30 years. This theme rises many controversies due to the different ways in which it is practiced, but it draws a lot of attention from researchers and historians, as it has been practiced for many centuries. Many countries have morbid tourism equipment and practice this modality, but they do not have a regularity like other segments of tourism. The present work aims to present a bibliographical study on the potential for the development of morbid tourism in the city of Manaus, as well as the capacity to exercise this function and the importance of this development for tourism in the city. It began with a history of the segment in the world and presentations of attractions. And from this information, a reflection and field research were carried out on a possible equipment for morbid tourism. The methodology adopted is based on bibliographic research involving definitions and typologies of Dark Tourism, based on scientific articles and international books by the authors who first presented the theme and conceptualized it. Therefore, this work seeks to be one more source of knowledge about the theme in the city.
