Resumo

This study aims to understand and analyze the state of the art of scientific productions that address the theme of creative economy in tourism and creative tourism through bibliographical and bibliometric research in the Google Scholar database in the period between 2017 and 2020. Currently, researches are dedicated to studying the creative economy applied to tourism, because it is an economy where it is possible to add symbolic and commercial values to products and services based on creativity, innovation and culture. Therefore, tourists can encounter meaningful and engaging experiences. Touristic entrepreneurs are responsible to adapt themselves to the twenty-first century customer and develop more creative tourist itineraries. The methodological approach adopted is quali-quantitative, making use of exploratory analysis, because it was necessary to conduct a survey and analysis of publications, and descriptive, which the characteristics of the studies gathered were pointed out. The analysis of the information was based on the following parameters: concentration of publications; annual variation of articles; the object of study; relevant journals, methodological characteristics, distribution of articles in relation to the creative economy categories and sectors; the main issues addressed in the publications in relation to the terms of the creative economy and creative tourism; identification of the main characteristics, gaps and incipient research. In regards to the results, the paper concluded that that the studies have a predominance of bibliographic and documentary research. Consequently, most of them have a qualitative focus in the research approach and use content analysis for data analysis. The weaknesses found were in relation to publications in Qualis A, B1, and B2 magazines; in studies in the North region and in the Amazon; in categories related to digital arts and visual arts; in sectors such as handicrafts and indigenous cultures, a gap in articles that discussed other sectors such as material heritage, museums and archives; in exploring issues related to artistic activities, innovation and cultural productions. It is expected that the work can contribute to academic and scientific discussions held in the area under the context of the creative economy and creative tourism. Studies as such contribute to the development of the state of art in this field of knowledge.
