Abstract

The importance of environmental education in schools is undeniable and encompasses a range of fundamental aspects for sustainable development and environmental preservation. Promoting awareness of environmental issues among young people is of paramount importance for understanding the problems and challenges faced by the environment; students become more aware of their own actions and the impact they cause. We will also explore the importance of environmental education not only in the schools of the municipality of Careiro, but throughout the local society, highlighting its benefits for students and the community in general, considering the preservation of the environment in which we live and the improvement of public health. This report aims to understand the importance of environmental education in the schools of the municipality of Careiro as a way to stimulate students' awareness and understanding of the environmental challenges faced on the planet, in order to develop values, attitudes, and skills that enable students to become responsible citizens committed to the preservation and sustainability of the environment.
