Cemitério Santo Alberto: memória e cultura no bairro colônia Antônio Aleixo

Abstract

In the modernity of cemeteries, necropolises or campo santo, they were configured as one of the strategies planned by human beings to face the unfolding of the end. These rely on the perpetuation of the individual through memory, because man refuses to be forgotten and therefore builds recording spaces. Thus, this research had the main objective of understanding the Santo Alberto Cemetery as a cultural and historical asset that records the Memory of the Colônia Antônio Aleixo Neighborhood. To this end, the following specific objectives were outlined to investigate the historical process(es) involved in the formation of the Santo Alberto Cemetery; learn about how the community of the Colônia Antônio Aleixo neighborhood relates to the space of this cemetery and learn about the cultural practices materialized in the cemetery space. The research is qualitative, and is also characterized as exploratory and descriptive. Not that it refers to types/means, it is bibliographic, documentary and field. In the construction of the research, interviews were carried out with residents of the Colônia Antônio Aleixo neighborhood, which were essential to understand the historical processes from the perspective of those who experienced these events
