Resumo

Given the persistent challenges in the field of Science Education, especially in Biology Teaching, it is necessary to adopt innovative teaching approaches that encourage students to think critically, produce knowledge, and relate content to their own realities. One of these approaches is the use of a Didactic Sequence (SD). The general objective of this study was to evaluate the learning process of the "Plasma Membrane" content through the application of a DS in a 1st year class of the Technical Course in Agriculture at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas - Campus Parintins. The research was based on the pedagogical principles proposed by Carvalho (2013) and Silveira (2020). Therefore, a didactic sequence was created that began with an initial assessment to assess students' prior knowledge about the plasma membrane. Then, activities were carried out that evaluated teaching and the creation of didactic models. Finally, an assessment was made of what was learned during classes using didactic models, in order to identify the different types of cells. The results indicated the importance of diversifying teaching tools to promote more effective learning, reaching a greater number of students. This emphasizes the need for educators to reflect on their practices and plan their pedagogical actions in order to overcome limitations.
