Resumo
Tourism in the contemporary world is modern, segmented, globalized and part of everyday life in many countries.Tourism has its origin in the third sector, in the provision of services, products designed and developed for a global demand that grows every year. However, data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE, 2010), point out that in Amazonas, there are 154,190 people with hearing problems, 87,429 in Manaus, 3.72% with total loss; 15.24% with great difficulty; and 81.04% with some difficulty. Considering the importance of the data, even if outdated, the research proposed as a general objective to evaluate the effectiveness of the assistive technology prototype using the Giulia application, for the deaf person, at Bosque da Ciência / INPA, a space for culture and leisure in Manaus, Amazonas. Among the specific objectives: a) research the current legislation on accessibility in tourism; b) evaluate the applicability of the Self-Guided Tour for deaf people at Bosque da Ciência / INPA; and c) to identify the possibilities and limitations of the prototype. Among the documentary sources, the research is based on Law No. 13,146, of July 6, 2015, Law of Inclusion of People with Disabilities, in the Accessible Tourism Booklet (2009), published by the Ministry of Tourism and Brazilian Norms (NBR) oriented for people with disabilities. In the tourism literature, the analysis is based on Beni (2004), Vignati (2008), Boullón (2002) and Marutschka (2000); the assistive technology concepts in the guidelines of the Technical Assistance Committee (CAT, 2009) and Almeida and Badalotti (2019). The study, continuing the results of the applied research in the scientific initiation project (PAIC-UEA), started in 2017, presents the step by step of the proposal's conception that culminated with the launch of the Self-Guided Roadmap in Bosque da Ciência, in year 2019. To achieve the proposed objectives, two surveys were applied using the Google Forms feature, among social media. A survey with questions related to the profile and perception of the deaf about accessibility and assistive technology and another, directed to the hearing person who interacts in the deaf community. The results obtained supported the hypothesis that the offer of applications helps the communication of the deaf person with the hearing person and that they can guarantee social inclusion through accessible tourism.
