Resumo

This article intends, in general terms, to verify the effectiveness of NLP (NLP) to teach the spelling of compound words. To this end, were selected 30 words in which could or could not occur hyphen according to the spelling rules of the Portuguese Portuguese, to perform a dictation applied to students of a class of the first year of high school students of a school in the south-central region of Manaus, as an initial test. In the second stage, from the results of this data collection tool, classes were planned guided by the principles and strategies of NLP which are used as a technique of memorization, having as theoretical contribution Dilts and Epstein (1999); Dilts (2004). In this theoretical the visual input and not the auditory is the way used as a strategy for the acquisition of orthographic writing. orthographic writing. The final test was then applied, using the same words as the test, with the objective of verifying the effectiveness of NLP strategies as a tool to support the tool to support the process of orthography acquisition. The results were statistically statistical treatment and were analyzed, showing an increase in the percentage of correct in the writing of these words. Therefore, it can be attested that this advance regarding the performance that students obtained in the orthographic writing of words is due to the effectiveness of the methodology of memorization of spelling proposed by NLP.
