Raivas Gostozas, de Marcos Portugal: uma abordagem prosódica

Abstract

Modinhas are strophic songs with instrumental accompaniment which emerged around the 18th century in Portugal and later in Brazil. The modinha Raivas Gostosas, (1793) from Marcos Portugal has seven stanza and the first presents some inconsistencies among spoken and musical prosody. This research presents a musical and prosodic analyisis of this ouevre and aims to do alterations in the text-melody distribuition, on the seven strophe, so the comprehension of thoses texts shall be improved when singing. Some melodic alterations have been done from the adequate prosodic adjustments with the spoken prosody, providing, thus, a little bit more of variety of the strophe repetitions.
