Resumo

Reflections on how to achieve meaningful learning in history education are increasingly frequent, especially in the context of the postmodern world, where social transformations are frequent and globalization opens up a wide variety of instruments and methods that can be used to achieve more satisfactory results. Active methodologies, long used as a teaching method, "most commonly in private education," are increasingly presented as a means of reconfiguring methodologies in the public education system and making the teaching-learning process an environment where the student has more autonomy and assumes a leading role in their educational and civic development. Applied democratically, active methods can contribute to better learning for 7th-grade students in elementary school II at GM3 school in Carauari-AM. By making the use of these methodologies possible, they will bring enormous contributions to making history teaching more contextualized, dynamic, and less like a traditional, rote learning model. These and other issues are addressed in this work, seeking proposals that enable better paths for the formation of critical and reflective citizens.
