Resumo

The excessive consumption of several drugs is becoming day by day more common, especially in large urban centers. Besides being a matter of public health, due to the major and unrestrained of pills, medicines and drug, leading to the development of super bacterias. We also have the occurrence of environment damages, such as bioaccumulation in aquatic live beings, the non-existence of quaternary sewage treatment and the lack of environmental laws for this type of pollution. At the end, these compounds are ingested by people even after the water treatment, which also doesn’t remove them properly. Inside this concept, the Paracetamol is one of the major drugs present even after the water treatment. There are methods that already exist, such as using ultraviolet light and hydrogen peroxide to promote the drug degradation, but few of those use the solar light to activate the reaction and don’t treat large volumes. The present study was developed from the construction of a Falling Film Reactor (FFR), which had a range of inclination’s angles (0º to 50º). The objective was to evaluate the aspects of inclination, flow rate (minimum and maximum), time reaction batch, besides the capacity of treatment (in litters), executing the batches in triplicate on 3 inclination’s angles (10º, 20º e 30º), all in maximum flow rate. The plate where the reaction occurred was painted with white wall ink and titanium dioxide, to improve the contact between the plate and the solution and promote better chemical reaction. All main solutions were made using distilled water, no need to regulate pH. The major degradation encountered was 17,97% at the angle of 30º, in contrast to what was thought initially, that the lower angle (10º) would generate more degradation due to the velocity of the flow in the plate. The higher angle anabled the solution to pass through the plate several times, improving the results. From the results generated, it was able to prove the efficiency comparable to the literature, being possible the development of improvements and increase the drug degradation on the system built.POA
