Resumo
This study analyzes the linguistic dynamics between Portuguese and Spanish in the speech of students at the Professor Ambrósio Bemerguy Municipal School, located in Tabatinga-AM, a city situated on the triple border between Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The constant interaction between different nationalities promotes intense linguistic contact, resulting in phenomena such as "Portunhol" (a mix of Portuguese and Spanish) and the formation of hybrid speech varieties. The research seeks to understand how this reality influences school pedagogical practices and the challenges faced by foreign students, especially Colombians and Peruvians, in learning the Portuguese language. It also discusses linguistic discrimination and its effects on the identity of speakers, both in the school environment and in society in general. The work highlights the importance of valuing linguistic diversity and proposes more inclusive pedagogical strategies that promote acceptance and respect for the multiple languages present in the region, contributing to a more equitable and culturally sensitive education.
