Resumo
In the Brazilian Amazon, fishing activity is characterized by
richness of species exploited by the amount of fish captured and the
dependence on the local population for the use of these resources (RASEIRA et al.,
2006). In view of the complexity of this activity in view of the predominance of
artisanal procedures in the detection of shoals and in the operations of
capture, it appears that knowledge and conservation of resources
fisheries by local rural societies are essential elements to
reproduction strategies of a unique and sociodiverse way of life, marked by
well, due to the complexity of fishing in this region and the different types of users
of fishing resources, or by the different fishing strategies and different
behavior towards resources and the environment.
It should be noted that, when talking about studies on human ecology,
rural Amazonian fishing societies make use of diverse and complex
practices in the use of resources for the basis of their survival, because despite
that it is a very rich environment, however, it presents weaknesses, these
weaknesses have pointed to the wear and tear and underexploitation of the environment and the
potential use of its resources.
