Abstract

With the growth of the elderly population in the world, it is observed that accessibility has become essential in the tourist activities that the elderly intend to undertake on a leisure trip. Considering that the tourist experience contributes to the cognitive and psychological development of the elderly, this study aims to analyze the influence of accessibility on the tourist experience of the elderly, using a methodology that is characterized as exploratory and descriptive, a quantitative study by through a survey of 100 elderly people. It was verified the importance of accessibility both for the choice and for the return and indication of the tourist destination, and the importance of this for the tourist experience of the elderly. This study will contribute to the development of effective actions to assist the elderly in tourism.
