Resumo

The Pé-de-Pincha project every year, the nature of large numbers of chelonians returns. Despite the involvement of schools in the project, little is explored about their contributions in the educational field. The objective of this study is to evaluate whether the development of the Pé-de-Pincha project contributes to the teaching and learning process of the students of the initial elementary school series of a municipal school of the Parananema community, in the municipality of Parintins - AM. The subjects analyzed were 27 4th and 5th grade students, teachers, manager and student assistant. As research instruments were used four techniques of data collection: questionnaires, documentary analysis, interview and observation. The results demonstrate that through the project teaching is facilitated by assimilation with concrete, when the educator relates the contents to the reality of the students. Over the years the project faced some difficulties, with Petrobras leaving being the main sponsor. However, the school and community remain in the same purpose, the commitment of the participants was not altered, but much can not be done without resources and support from the competent bodies.
