Abstract

This book brings together eleven works by different authors in which the themes of gender, culture, power, work and social movements are treated in different ways, sometimes linked to the art produced in the Amazon, as in the chapter that deals with the indigenous presence in the festival of boi-bumbá from Parintins, sometimes to religious expression in the state, as in the text that addresses the impact of mediatized communication in the construction of popular references about the ritual of the tucandeira of the Sateré-Mawé.
