Análise situacional da governança do turismo local: entre a responsabilidade e a sustentabilidade

Abstract

An effective strategy to guarantee the sustainability of the tourist destination is to have a state tourism body that assumes among its priorities responsible tourism with strategic actions, impact measurement and transparency in processes and results. In view of this, this work seeks to understand the functioning of local tourism governance by the State Tourism Company of Amazonas (Amazonastur) aiming at sustainability, and also to understand how the public sector can use an ESG (environmental, social and governance) approach to promote sustainable actions, exemplify responsible and sustainable practices by governance representatives from other locations in Brazil and the world, identify in Amazonastur's actions alignments with responsible tourism and corroborate with future planning and practices aimed at responsible tourism in Amazonas. This is an exploratory, qualitative research, based on data obtained from the relationship between information from bibliographic research, document research and questionnaires applied to representatives of Amazonastur. From the crossing of information, the results made it possible to recognize that in the functioning of the governance of local tourism, actions of promotion, organization and development of tourism are carried out by Amazonastur, but the alignment of these actions with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) considering responsible tourism, as well as accountability, transparency and measurement of impacts and results still require greater commitment.
