Resumo
The present work aims to present experiences acquired in the teaching of various musical instruments and collective singing, resulting from a social action project carried out by a religious institution in the indigenous community of Terra Preta, rural area of Manaus, in Amazonas. For this research I sought understanding for the theme indigenous people in Luciano (2006); Nheengatu indigenous language in Ávila (2016); Musical education and its possible contributions to the formation of an individual in Fonterrada (2008) and musical poetry in Penna (2008). The methodological procedures adopted were analytical-descriptive, based on action research, with execution of the music teaching project developed in the said community. Among the results achieved are musical learning, by those involved with the guitar, drums, guitar, electric bass, keyboard and collective singing instruments that were discovered by the community during the development of the project. As a result, this project, in addition to the training and capacity building of the community for the practice of music, has enabled the Nheengatu native language to be appreciated through music and, through my initiative together with the community, the Mirá Yiá Musical Group was created. Initiative that resulted in the recording of a CD that directly contributes to safeguard the traditions and native language, genuine elements of the indigenous community Terra Preta.
