Monumentos Históricos das praças centrais da cidade de Manaus em seu resgate histórico (Praça da Saudade, Praça São Sebastião e Praça da Polícia)

Abstract

This course completion work has the purpose of analyzing three squares located in the Historic Center of Manaus, in order to map the monuments in which they are found, which are part of the local historical patrimony. In the course of this work, all the significance and importance of a historical / cultural heritage, as well as the importance of its preservation and conservation, and the relationship it establishes with Memory and Cultural Tourism will be addressed. It was sought to show the importance of these monuments to the memory instituted by the history of the events through which it passed. Also will be shown a little of the history of the origin of Manaus, as well as the process of embellishment, the public works made, the belle époque. In my field research it was possible to observe a lack of public safety in the squares worked, not the lack of safety, but also the lack of awareness of the local population and even the tourists. In particular, the square of Saudade, where it is in poor conservation, there is no attention of the public power. The monument located in the square of Saudade, is in poor conservation, there are graffiti in the same, students and regulars that are damaging the monument. For the investigation of the proposed theme, a bibliographical research was used as a methodological tool: books, articles and other scientific texts already published, with the purpose of unveiling the relationships between concepts, ideas and characteristics of the theme. In addition to the bibliographical research, a field survey was carried out with questionnaires applied to students attending the squares.
