Abstract

This article focuses on the reflection of labor and social relations in Manaus’ theatrical artistic environment regarding the female body by an experience report that evidences physical and moral abuse suffered during a process of character creation and the experiences of actresses from different times. Between provocations about creative processes and their methodologies within the rehearsal room mostly run by men, we aim to analyze the hierarchical position between actresses and their co-workers from the perspective of feminism in order to explore situations that may lead a woman in a submissive position to the man. Autoethnography and gender studies are also used as a research base (FORTIN, 2009; BEAUVOIR, 1980). Keywords: Actress, creation process, female body, violence.
