Resumo
This work aims to contribute to the improvement of
meaningful student teaching and learning about polynomial functions of the 1st degree
through contextualization of problems with the use of concrete materials for the
1st year of high school. Based on this general objective, this research intends to achieve
the following specific objectives: to define the concepts of the 1st polynomial functions
degree; contribute to teaching and learning about polynomial functions of the 1st degree in the
change from colloquial language into mathematical language from problems
contextualized; apply concrete material with activities involving problems

contextualized on polynomial functions of the 1st degree in 02 classes of the 1st year of the
high school; interpret the results obtained after applying the activities
proposals in the research verifying the contribution of the concrete material to the study
of 1st degree polynomial functions; develop methodological alternatives in teaching
and learning 1st degree polynomial functions.
