Resumo
The objective of this study is to present the dissemination of scientific knowledge in High School, in a
SEDUC / AM project, which uses information and communication technologies, especially distance
learning, as an educational tool to teach 3rd year Secondary school students in the Municipality of
Parintins. The study was conducted with professionals from the Centre for Media Education in
Amazonas (CEMEAM) in Manaus; classroom teachers; students and former students of the High
School Direct and Distance Teaching Process in five schools in the city of Parintins, comprising of
one state ( urban area ) and four municipal ( rural area ), selected to provide a wide ranging spectrum.
The methodology was informed by qualitative approaches, both exploratory and descriptive in nature,
using techniques of indirect documentation, intensive direct observation and structured interviews.
Data was collected and then analyzed to compose the survey findings. The results demonstrated that
the existence of scientific dissemination within the combined Direct and Distance Teaching
Process assists mathematical learning, albeit being partially understood by all those involved.
However, serious problems encountered in the methodology used by the project in question still need
to be overcome urgently, as do additional issues concerning infrastructure and logistics, according to
teachers and students
