Resumo

The work that the reader has in hand, INNOVATION MANAGEMENT: INFORMATION. ACTION AND COLLABORATIVE RELATIONS, results from the collective effort that has been undertaken by Amazonian researchers and librarians (mainly) to reflect on the challenges of innovation in the context of the Amazon Region. Very well pointed out in the subtitle of the work, the reflection It is not limited to theoretical aspects. The challenge is greater, that is, the aim is to consecrate a theoretical-practical approach from the themes emerging from the Amazon and using its enormous potential that contributes to the insertion of Brazil in the complex world of technological innovation. The timing could not be more favorable for the launch of this work than puts at the center of the discussion the forms of collaborative action as a key element in the economic development process and the generation of science, technology and innovations. Thus, the central theme of the work is Networks and information, which are understood as strategic elements for the creation and strengthening of the national innovation system. To achieve this feat, the work is divided into 05 axes and 13 chapters. Axis 1 is dedicated the definition of Networks, where the conceptual framework on the theory of Social Networks is presented, their interaction with the world of digital technologies and the internet and finally an application from this theory to the context of collaboration in Science, Technology and Innovation in the Amazon. Axis 2 of the work is devoted to the analysis of relationships or interaction or cooperation, that is, here are the chapters dealing with the soul of the Social, that is, the interaction between the organizations / individuals that make up the Networks. Here are presented the theories of interorganizational relationships, the variables that must be observed in the study of the Networks and the various types of cooperation possible. In addition to this discussion of a conceptual nature, a chapter of applied imprint showing the procedures established by the Biotechnology Center da Amazônia (CBA) to manage knowledge of the relationship network based on the various organizations and institutions established as collaborators in the development of innovative processes in biotechnology in the Amazon. Axis 3 is dedicated to methodological discussions to show ways of monitoring the evolution and operation of the networks and their results. This is done by through the presentation of studies based on indicators and metrics explaining the status of some Amazonian networks built around the biotechnological challenge, both in the pure field of science and technology as in the field of process development which require a deeper understanding of the interaction between academia and companies. In this axis, we highlight the suggestion of developing a specific methodology Based on Design Science Research for specific artifact creation to systematize information and establish appropriate indicators and metrics for the evaluation of the company in the Amazon. Also, deserves special attention the very rich studies identifying, through data from the scientific and patent literature, the configuration of scientific networks based on the biotechnological paradigm in action in the Region Amazon. In particular, these types of studies reveal the enormous potential of information contained in patent documents and properly organized to better understand the structuring of relationship networks around technologies. In axis 4, the emphasis is on knowledge management tools Networks created in the dynamics of the innovative processes of the Amazon, with special highlight to the institutional repositories. These are fundamental instruments. contribute to the development of science, technology and innovation as they consolidate practices for sharing and disseminating research results within the scope of the Networks enabling the generation of new knowledge and information. Finally, axis 5 presents competitive intelligence studies from the following Amazonian environments, institutions and organizations integrated into the local innovation and its potential for national and global integration and insertion into ongoing innovations, particularly from the enormous potential in the field biotechnology and sustainable use of Amazonian biodiversity. So to fulfill the main attribute that is expected from a preface that is disrupting the reader's arrival to the main text as little as possible, I conclude by saying that the work now being read by the reader has masterfully revealed the enormous potential of skills and human resources in science and technology that are in motion in the Northern Region to improve Brazil's position on the map of world innovation. I wish you all a great read !!!
