As principais plantas medicinais utilizadas no bairro São Francisco no município de Pauiní-AM

Abstract

This work aimed to recognize and identify the main species of medicinal plants and their use. It obtained the empirical knowledge of the residents of the São Francisco neighborhood in the municipality of Pauíni-AM about the indications herbal medicines and forms of use, interviews were conducted with the application of a questionnaire. The age group between 20 and 75 years old, schooling of respondents 34% have completed high school, about 44% acquired medicinal knowledge with family and friends and 87% of respondents said they grow their own plants. Thirty-four plant species and 24 families were collected, basil was the predominant species and tea is the main form of use of medicinal plants, the highest indication is for stomach disorders.
