Cartografias de memórias quilombolas: o caso do distrito de Santa Tereza do Matupiri.

Abstract

This text discusses the territorialities, cartographies of territorial memories, knowledge and heritage of quilombolas on the Andirá River, on the Amazonas/Pará border. It is an in-depth study of the research that was carried out based on institutional extension projects of the Center for Afro-Brazilian Studies of the Center for Higher Education of Parintins, at the State University of Amazonas (2021-2022 and 2022-2023). The research is a case study, anchored in the field of Cultural Geography, qualitative research and uses the methodology of Oral History. From these paths, five cartographies of territorial memories were constructed, together with micro biographies of quilombola characters and a catalog of symbolic spaces and belongings. This points to the countless knowledge and heritage of quilombolas, creating instruments and supports for the production of materials and pedagogical strategies, in order to put into practice what is determined by the legislation on quilombola school education.
