Resumo
Living in the interior of the Amazon, especially along riverbanks, defines the lifestyle of riverside caboclo communities. From an early age, residents learn practices such as swimming, hunting, fishing, and flour production, preserving knowledge inherited from indigenous peoples. This study examines the daily life of the Santo Isidoro community, in Médio Solimões, Amazonas, focusing on cassava flour production and artisanal fishing, which are central to the community's identity, economy, and culture. The objective was to map the cassava flour production chain, from harvest to marketing, and to identify challenges in flour production and fishing. This qualitative case study employed bibliographic and documentary research, semi-structured interviews, and direct observation. The findings show that cassava flour production and artisanal fishing sustain the local economy and reflect a profound connection to the environment, highlighting strong social and cultural cohesion. The study underscores the importance of preserving these traditional ways of life.
