Levantamento epidemiológico da cobertura vacinal contra febre aftosa em bovinos e bubalinos no município de Barreirinha AM

Abstract

Foot-and-mouth disease is a highly contagious disease that affects cattle, buffaloes, sheep, pigs and other cleft animals. Foot-and-mouth disease causes great economic losses due to the decrease in the productivity of herds, consequently generating losses. According to the above, this study aimed to diagnose the procedures of the FMD vaccination campaign in cattle and buffaloes in the municipality of Barrerinha-AM and to analyze the data for the year 2019. The methodology used was based on the visit in some properties, data collection and application of semi-structured questionnaires to producers, with questions related to vaccination coverage of foot-and-mouth disease. The results indicate that there are difficulties during vaccination coverage, and showed that the vaccination rate in herds is above 80%, which is considered satisfactory.
