Abstract

Play contributes significantly to the child's life as a participant in the culture of the society in which he lives. Moreover, the experience of the playful for them is essential in terms of critical and especially creative cultural participation. The objective of this work is to analyze the leisure and children entertainment market in the events held in the city of Manaus, to identify the types of services offered in the area, as well as to understand the motivation of the client to contract these services. Regarding the approach to research, the study is qualitative-quantitative. The research is exploratory, descriptive and explanatory, since the research is carried out in an area of very little existing knowledge, in this case leisure and children's entertainment in the city of Manaus. The sample is non-probabilistic because it involved contractors and non contractors of random recreation services. Participant observation technique was used, which has the practice of recreation. Field research was carried out with the application of a questionnaire with closed and open questions about the topic discussed with parents and relatives of children up to 12 years old, aiming to relate the high prices of services with the lack of consumption of the same in the city of Manaus, were also collected data about the company, cited during the survey, which operates in the leisure and entertainment market in the city. The work proposes the creation of new financially accessible alternatives for leisure and entertainment for children in the city of Manaus, Amazonas.
