Eventos, turismo e sustentabilidade: análise bibliométrica de periódicos e artigos publicados na base de dados Web of Science no período de 2015 a 2025

Abstract

Tourism, as one of the world's most dynamic economic sectors, is intrinsically linked to events, which work very much with the definition of what tourism is, displacement. The purpose of this article is to present a bibliometric study that analyzes scientific production on the context of sustainability and event tourism in journals from 2015 to 2025. The study was based on a systematic review of academic databases, seeking to identify trends, gaps and relevant contributions to the field. Even so, there is a need for further research into the reality of specific regions, such as the Amazon, where tourism potential requires planning that is attentive to local issues. The results contribute to broadening the debate on responsible practices in the sector and reinforce the importance of incorporating sustainable criteria into the management and evaluation of events. When studying the articles published, countries with the highest publication rates and interest in the subject were identified, such as Spain, Australia and the United States, as well as the years with the highest number of articles published, namely 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 revealing that COVID-19, the results indicate a significant increase in interest in the subject, although they are still mostly concentrated in European countries.
