Resumo
Resulting from the experience gained during Supervised Internship I, held at Almirante Barroso State School, this work addresses the teaching of History in the 6th grade of Elementary School. The central theme focuses on the ways of life of early human groups, with an emphasis on the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. The methodology employed included the use of visual resources, playful activities such as themed crosswords, and participatory classes, aiming to make the content accessible and promote critical reflection among students. Educational challenges arising from the pandemic, such as reading and writing difficulties, were addressed through the adoption of pedagogical strategies adapted to the students' realities. The teaching practice was based on the theories of Paulo Freire and David Ausubel, who advocate active student participation in the construction of knowledge. The internship revealed the importance of pedagogical flexibility and the application of active methodologies, which proved effective in engaging students and developing a critical understanding of historical processes.
