Resumo
The activity of blessing and pulling is a very ancient activity in society, especially in the Amazon. Understanding how these practices are implemented in a community is crucial, given their social relevance as constitutive elements of local tradition. Thus, this experience report, in the form of historical research, describes the process of research on the topic in Novo Aripuanã, Amazonas, to highlight this practice of scientific investigation as an important factor in the training of history professionals. The work was developed using the Oral History method, using five interviewees who offered their narratives as analytical support, since the subject is not related to an institution that produces official/formal documentation and is essentially a practice passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition. Throughout the research process, it was concluded that, given the literature addressing the topic in other regions of the Amazon, the act of blessing and pulling has unique characteristics, very specific to the city, particularly regarding its forms and content. It is also clear how these activities are still relevant to the Community and how they focus heavily on family heritage based on charity and the syncretism of beliefs.
