Revitalização da coleção de sementes do herbário do Centro de Estudos Superiores de Parintins - UEA para fins didáticos

Abstract

This work presents a proposal to revitalize the seed collection present in the herbarium of the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, Centro de Estudos Superiores de Parintins and transform it into a didactic material, facilitating its handling in botany classes, scientific exposition during the external visits to the university and other educational purposes. An analysis was carried out to verify which seeds would go through the cleaning or disposal process, in addition to expanding the collection after revitalization. During this process, the informative data of each seed were researched and recorded to compose the identification labels. The newly collected seeds were placed in an oven heated to 60ºC for a period of five to eight days. The number of revitalized samples collected and labeled to be stored on a shelf reserved for this collection is listed. Plasticized sheets were prepared containing the main identification information and illustrations, with the same numbering of the label of their respective sample, stored in a white MDF wooden box, and placed next to the collection, providing an easy-to-handle didactic material to contribute with the teaching-learning process or research.
