Trabalho no setor informal urbano o caso dos vendedores das feiras livres do município de Parintins

Abstract

The present study proposed to describe the work in the urban informal sector, specifically the case of the sellers of the free fairs of “Bagaço e do Produtor” in the municipality of Parintins/AM. Its general objective was to describe the informal work carried out by marketers at the Bagaço and Producer fairs, with regard to their ability to promote the development of these workers from a socioeconomic point of view. To this end, the following specific objectives were outlined: to understand the importance of informal work at street markets; identify the problems faced by marketers; point out interventions by the public authorities for the stallholders who work at the Bagaço and Producer fairs, in relation to their economic contribution and source of income. The study was a field research, with a qualitative approach, where the dialectical method was used. As a research instrument, it carried out direct observations and the application of an interview with questions aimed at workers at the two street markets in the city. The results obtained revealed that workers face difficulties in relation to the precarious infrastructure of the fairs, lack of effective public policies and the financial instability that directly affects their businesses. However, the interviewees emphasize the importance of street markets as a source of livelihood for families, in addition to being an important means of access to fresh, regional and healthy food for the population.
