Resumo
Based on the experience gained during Supervised Internship I, carried out at the Almirante Barroso State School, this work addresses the teaching of History in the 6th grade of Elementary School. The central theme focuses on the lifestyles of the first human groups, with emphasis on the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. The methodology employed included the use of visual resources, playful activities such as thematic crossword puzzles, and participatory classes, with the aim of making the content accessible and promoting critical reflection among students. The educational challenges arising from the pandemic, such as reading and writing difficulties, were addressed through the adoption of pedagogical strategies adapted to the students' reality. The teaching practice was based on the theories of Paulo Freire and David Ausubel, who advocate the active participation of the student in the construction of knowledge. The internship revealed the importance of pedagogical flexibility and the application of active methodologies, which proved effective in engaging students and developing a critical understanding of historical processes.
