Levantamento de dados quantitativos das coletas de resíduos sólidos no município de Parintins, Amazonas

Abstract

In this study is analized a quantitative analysis of the production of the urban solid waste in the municipality of the Parintins (AM) between 2017 and 2023 . The aim was to demonstrate, based on the data collected, through graphs the amount of solid waste produced by the population and collected during the years covered. The research involved the collection of data provided by SEMOSP and in loco visits to the municipal dump station, located in the Djard Vieira neighborhood, an urban area of the municipality, between neighborhoods and institutions such as the Parintis Center for Higher Education of the State University of Amazonas. The municipality, located in the interior of Amazonas, known for the Folklore Festival, which despite its cultural and economic importance, has serious difficulties in solid waste management. The analysis of the collected data raises concern regarding the volume of garbage generated by the local population. According to data obtained from the department responsible for urban waste collection services, the city produced approximately 786,559.18 tons of dump between 2017 and 2023. The waste produced is collected and taken to a dump station without proper treatment, which compromises the soil, water and health of the population. Selective waste collection is limited, with the participation of the dump pickers' association, but it still does not meet the city's growing demand.
