Atuação do Acadêmico de Enfermagem como Assistente de Pesquisa Clínica durante da Pandemia de COVID-19: Um relato de experiência

Abstract

This study is an experience report describing the role of a nursing undergraduate student as a clinical research assistant during the COVID-19 pandemic, within the COVACMANAUS study conducted in Manaus, Brazil, between March and May 2021. The objective was to describe the activities performed, the challenges faced, and the skills developed throughout the process. The experience provided practical learning in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), integration into a multidisciplinary team, and direct engagement with scientific and ethical protocols governing research involving human subjects. The main outcomes included strengthened ethical responsibility, collaborative work, and the development of technical and communication skills. It is concluded that participation in clinical research during undergraduate studies significantly contributes to academic and professional growth, enhancing understanding of the nurse-researcher’s role and the relevance of evidence-based nursing
