Resumo
This experience report highlights the importance of including students with disabilities in history education, a situation encountered at the Escola Estadual Professora Santina Filizola during internship I, 2023, where we identified a significant gap in pedagogical strategies and the need for teacher training in various circumstances. One of the main objectives of this work is to recognize and value inclusion in order to build an educational environment that serves students equally. Observations made during internship I revealed a worrying reality: many students with disabilities were being marginalized due to overcrowding in the classroom, which prevented the individual attention necessary for learning. The reviewed works emphasize the importance of inclusive practices and the role of citizenship in the educational process, reiterating that a comprehensive pedagogy that considers all students, respecting their singularities and potential, is essential. Direct observations and document analysis provided a richer understanding of pedagogical practices and the reality experienced at the school. Finally, inclusion is a fundamental principle of equality and citizenship in the school environment, highlighting the urgent need for continuous teacher training and the development of innovative strategies that enable inclusive and quality education.
