Resumo
This account of the experience addresses the narratives of the Lagoa de Alfaia family and their contributions to preserving the archaeological heritage on Vera Cruz Island. Iracema Lagoa is the main instigator of this family tradition, beginning the collection of artifacts in her childhood, along with her sister Iraci Lagoa, who used the "little faces" as children's toys. Over time, this practice was passed on to the rest of her family, resulting in the creation of a family museum that houses the ceramic pieces found. The museum, now run by her daughter Iacy Lagoa, represents the protection of archaeological finds and cultural appreciation. Oral history was used, through interviews with family members, to collect the accounts. This approach is complemented by photographic records and a bibliographic review that contextualizes the importance of the narratives and artifacts in local identity, consolidating the museum as a symbol of memory and continuity for future generations, reflecting the family's commitment to valuing their culture and rescuing their roots.
