Resumo
This work is an account of an experience lived at the Salum de Almeida Municipal School in the municipality of Maués, Amazonas, in 2023, regarding the indigenous theme during supervised internship I. We analyzed Law 11.645 of 2008, which mandates and values the teaching of indigenous history and culture, the Federal Constitution, and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDBEN). In addition, I used theoretical references to support this research. It is important to highlight that the school has indigenous students from the Saterê Mawé ethnic group. Therefore, through interculturality, I sought to teach, during the required internship I sessions, all possible information about indigenous history and culture, and the fundamental role of the original peoples in the history of Brazil, thus breaking paradigms regarding the inferiorization of indigenous people in history, making them protagonists and emphasizing their status as historical subjects.
