A trajetória de Varcy Herculano, o primeiro prefeito de Ipixuna: uma história de liderança

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Varcy Herculano in the development of Ipixuna, considering economic, social, and political factors. This work presents an analysis of Ipixuna's heritage history, focusing on the life stories of Varcy Herculano Barroso, its first mayor. The research sought to understand Varcy Herculano's trajectory, from his arrival in Ipixuna to his term as mayor, highlighting his challenges, achievements, and contributions to local development. The results showed that Varcy Herculano Barroso played a fundamental role in the founding and consolidation of Ipixuna, facing significant challenges such as lack of infrastructure and resources, thus leaving a lasting legacy in the local identity. The research concluded that the history of Varcy Herculano Barroso is essential to understanding the cultural and political heritage of Ipixuna. The contributions of this work include recording and preserving the memory of Ipixuna's first mayor, enriching local historiography, as well as recognizing the importance of heritage history in the construction of Ipixuna's identity.
