Resumo

The present work entitled "Playing in childhood: the role of games in the integral development of children in Kindergarten during a pandemic period in Parintins-AM" aimed to understand how games during a pandemic period contributed to the integral development of children . For this, theoretical support was sought in: Aries (1981); Kramer (2003); Loyal (2014); Gil (2010); Barros (2009); Oliveira (2010); Sarmento (2003); Vygotsky (2007), among others. It is a qualitative research and Phenomenological procedure method. The research was developed with a group of small children (4 to 5 years and 11 months old-BNCC), afternoon shift at the Gurilânda Children's Educational Center, and had the participation of 04 children along with their mothers and the class teacher mentioned. As this is a research with children, it was necessary to consider the ethical issues for the use of the children's testimonies and images, thus asking their parents' permission. Data for the research were built from interaction with those involved, through individual conversations through the application used to exchange text messages instantly, from observation in the WhatsApp group and semi-structured interviews with the teacher, mothers and the children. The results showed that the games significantly contributed to the integral development of those children. Even prevented from being in the school environment, in their homes, the children established relationships, interacted, shared feelings and used their imagination in relation to the games. The help of the family is essential for the children's education to be guaranteed in a time of pandemic. Families, even with so many demands, were able to reconcile their work activities and help their children at home. We conclude that playing as part of the children's universe contributes to their integral development and contributes to the constitution of their identity and autonomy.
