Resumo
The Teaching of Geography plays an important role in training students aware of their responsibilities in always seeking to build a more humane and just society. In this work, we seek to reflect on Geography in the classroom: difficulties and possibilities in the teaching and learning process in the 5th year of elementary school at Escola Municipal Luz do Saber, Parintins-AM. As a general objective, we seek to analyze how the teaching of Geography has been worked in the 5th year of elementary school and what are the problems that hinder the teaching and learning process at Luz do Saber Municipal School and as specific objectives we seek to identify the main difficulties that teachers face. face in the teaching and learning process in geography in the 5th year; Observe the resources used by geography teachers in the 5th year; What are the contributions of the textbook in the teaching and learning process in geography in the 5th year. This research is qualitative in nature, based on the phenomenological approach and bibliographical research. We used participant observation and interviews involving teachers and observations together with Elementary School II students at the school. As a reading for understanding and discussing the reality of teaching Geography, its history and scientific development, we sought theoretical support in the authors: Pontuschka, 2007; Castrogiovanni, 2014, 2011; Cavalcanti, 2002; Castellar, 2014. After applying the interview and participant observation, the results showed that although the school has a good physical structure, it lacks a pedagogical team to monitor and guide teachers in planning and organizing their classroom activities, especially in teaching geography.
