Resumo

The present work analyzed the contributions of games and games to the psychomotor development of children in the second period in a Children's Educational Center in the Municipality of Parintins-Amazonas. To achieve this objective, the following specific objectives were outlined: Identify the psychomotor games and games used in the Early Childhood Education classroom; Know how the teacher works with psychomotor games and games in the II period of Early Childhood Education; Verify the contributions of psychomotor games and games in the child's teaching-learning process in the II period of Early Childhood Education. The main authors used to base the research were: Meur and Staes (1991), Almeida (2009), Kishimoto (2008 and 2003) who brought great contributions to this research. The present study is qualitative in nature, with an approach based on phenomenology to understand the importance of the subject in the process of knowledge construction. As a procedural method, field research with participatory observation was used to understand the practice of second period teachers regarding the use of games for children's psychomotor development. The main results achieved bring to light the teachers reality when they propose to use games and games in the classroom, they reveal which games teachers frequently use, how planning is done regarding the use of these games and how they work that the teacher assumes will reflect on the student's learning process. They also reveal the main difficulties faced in relation to physical space, the lack, the insufficiency of games in the school's collection, the production that involves the materials and resources for making the games. They also reveal, mainly, the contributions of games and games to the psychomotor development of children in the II period in the cognitive, motor and affective aspects, which are of paramount importance for the child*s integral and full development.
