Lutas do campo: vivência de trabalhadores rurais da Amarjuma – um relato de experiência em pesquisa

Abstract

This experience report analyzes what led to the formation of the Association of Agro-Extractive Residents of the Juma Sustainable Development Reserve - AMARJUMA and its activities in Amazonas. The research highlights that the community organization arose from the need for legal representation and that it was configured as a strategy of resistance and empowerment. Through AMARJUMA, the riverside communities achieved improvements in infrastructure, education, and living conditions, which were previously precarious. Despite the difficulties, the association has sought to reconcile more sustainable agricultural practices with the environmental preservation of the region. In addition, the research shows that associativism is an important tool for the struggle for social justice in the Brazilian rural environment.
