Resumo

This study addresses the importance of supervised internships in teacher training, highlighting their role as a transformative element between theory and pedagogical practice. Conducted at the Thomé Ferreira Santiago State School in the municipality of Careiro, Amazonas, the exploratory qualitative research included students from the 8th and 9th grades of elementary school. During the three-week internship, the student teachers actively participated in school activities, including meetings with teachers, administrators, and the community, in addition to developing and implementing a pedagogical intervention project. The project focused on addressing the learning deficit caused by the pandemic, preparing students for an educational monitoring test. The research indicated that supervised internships are fundamental for the development of practical skills, such as classroom management and the adaptation of pedagogical strategies to students' needs. Furthermore, the internship experience provides a critical reflection on teaching practices, promoting continuous improvement and innovation in education. The role of the supervising professor is highlighted as essential, serving as a guide and support to the student teacher throughout the entire process, contributing to the formation of a critical and reflective stance indispensable to teaching practice.
